Welcome to the website of the Australia and New Zealand Emergency Department Airway Registry.
Successful airway management is one of the cornerstones of care for critically ill or injured patients in the Emergency Department (ED). The risks of intubation are known to be higher in this environment compared to the operating theatre, yet there is little published data on airway management in an Australian ED.
We should strive to make our first attempt at intubation our best and only attempt in order to minimise the chance of our patients' suffering complications.
Improvement in the process is clearly in our patients' best interests.
Regular audit should take place of airway management problems or events in the ED.

Our vision is to create a multi centre database to evaluate what is current practice and to assess future developments in techniques and technology.
